After World War II, new construction and development demand began to grow in Oklahoma. On February 1, 1948 Pete & Clara Schwarz opened Schwarz Ready Mix and began delivering concrete in Okarche, OK. From there, the business grew and included equipment for municipal and paving projects in Canadian and Kingfisher Counties. In 1951 the Schwarz’s opened their second plant in Kingfisher, OK.

From those early days, the business continued to grow throughout the Oklahoma City metro area, meeting the demands for Oklahoma City’s growth. During that time, the Schwarz’s acquired Wullich Brothers Ready Mix, Murphy Perkins Ready Mix, and Superior Ready Mix.

In August of 2007, Schwarz Ready Mix became a part of Boral Construction Materials. In many ways the family business’s legacy continues, and its dedicated employees continue to provide value with the increase of resources provided by Boral.

Today, as the business moves forward, we continue to strive and further develop material and delivery solutions for Oklahoma City’s growing urban and suburban communities.
